Title of Post:
Sales work promotion
To:
Regional Sales Manager
Job Description:
Sales is tough. You don’t even get noticed unless you’re performing better than everyone else, and that was what I had to learn. A good track record is important, and I was doing well. When the Regional Sales Manager job came up, I was very junior, but selling well. (We sell phone contracts, and the competition is intense.) After I was told I got the job, the boss said, “You got the promotion because we know you can handle it, you’ve proved it already.” So all that hard work really paid off. A good record really matters.

I think you state some valid points. Most of the time promotion is only possible after a lot of hard work that proves your abilities and how superior you perform as compared to other people. You knew that, did what you di, and got the promotion out of simple dedication and hard work. You are a good example for others who want a promotion and are not sure what they need to do. You did not do anything complicated, just the right things!
