  • A favorite chair that you relax in to unwind from the day.
  • Comfortable clothes that you wear while at home.
  • Reading - this can be the newspaper, a new book, or a favorite magazine
  • Walking the dog - this not only helps eliminate stress but gives you daily exercise and time with a best friend
  • Talking to friends - even taking an hour on the weekends to talk to far away friends or family can become something to look forward to
  • Favorite restaurant - even if its only going out for coffee once a week, this can become a safe way of coping with not having a job at the moment.
  • Hobbies - any type of relaxing activity such as ceramics or bird watching, or even building birdhouses helps with coping by getting your mind away from being jobless.
  • Gardening - this is a good physical task that lets you get out aggression on the weeds and also can bring calm and enjoyment when the harvest is picked.
